Nagarjuna was an Indian philosopher who founded the Madhyamaka school of Mahayana Buddhism. He was born in India and his form of Buddhism was carried to Tibet. There are no reliable accounts of his life as they were written centuries afterwards. Nagarjuna is credited with bringing Buddhism back to the middle-way and nearer to the Buddha's original ideas. Nagarjuna wrote many texts in Sanskrit not the usual Pali as he was raised a Brahmin and converted.

Visiting this statue will not disturb any worship.
