Elk Lodge No. 1903 - Dover, Delaware - Elks Lodges on Waymarking.com

In 1953, Wilmington Lodge #307 agreed to be the sponsoring lodge, and with one-hundred eleven (111) charter members, Dover Lodge #1903 became a reality.. In June 1955, a local group of Doctors and Businessmen approached Dover Elks and offered as a gift, $5500.00 to purchase property. Through numerous fundraisers, a ground breaking ceremony transpired in August 1958. On November 16, 1961, a first meeting was held at then, the new Dover Elks Lodge #1903, on Forrest Avenue.
The Lodge Property on Forrest Avenue was sold in 2004, and after 10 years of discussing, a new Lodge building has been constructed at 200 Saulsbury Road, Dover. The move into the new Lodge was started on October 1st and 2nd, with occupancy on October 7th, 2005. Dedication of the new Lodge occured on November 26th, 2005.
