Jack and Fern Morrison came to the Mt Carmel the same year the Zion Mt Carmel tunnel was built. They started a gas station on what was then a gravel road. Fern was a good cook and would make pies for the truck drivers passing through. In 1940 they opened a restaurant that still stands today. We heard the pies are great but were to full to eat desert. Next time we pass through here we will start with desert.
