Large and gated. It was locked on my visit. It appeared to be in need or cleaning, restoration or whatever you would do for a cemetery! The outer walls double on the inside as "oven vaults". PLEASE be cautious if visiting, it is located on a VERY busy intersection (City Park Ave. and Canal St) The entire area is a great place to visit with no less than 10 cemeteries within walking distance. Brief history on the Odd Fellows in New Orleans state
The Independent Order of Odd Fellows, a secret benevolent society, had its New Orleans
beginnings in 1831. In 1847 the Grand Lodge of the order' purchased a portion of the present
cemetery site for $700 from Henry Mitchell. This site adjoins St. Patrick Cemetery No. 2 at the
intersection of Canal Street and City Park Avenue. (Information taken from web link listed below)
