This altar on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon consists of three tiers of rocks placed in a 3-4 foot square area. A very thin flat rock sits on top of the three tiers, and a wooden cross is placed at the very top. The entire altar is only about 4 feet high.
Can you imagine a more beautiful place to worship that the rim of the Grand Canyon? The view from here is spectacular! Imagine sitting here at the altar, listening to beautiful guitar playing and singing, looking out at the majectic canyon.
There is plenty of seating for anyone who wants to join in! Rocks line the rim path here, providing a natural seating area. Visitors are also welcome to bring their own chair.
