The first try to establish Subway in Switzerland failed around the year 2000; the five existing subway restaurants had to close. In 2007 Subway Switzerland started a second attempt. The Subway Stücki in Basel opened on September 24th 2009 and was the third Subway in Switzerland. Meanwhile several other locations have opened in Switzerland.
