This small old bank building sits in the middle of the small southern Delaware town of Dagsboro. Incorporated in the early 1900s, this quiet town is energized in summer by Route 26 beach traffic. The town, in the Indian River School District, was founded in 1747 and has been known as Blackfoot Town, Dagsbury and Dagsborough. It was named for General John Dagworthy, a Brigadier General of the Sussex County Militia during the Revolutionary War.
After the bank closed in around 1940, the US Post Office took over, and now it is the Town Hall offices. All of the stained glass windows are original, and the vault is still there, but used for storage.
