The school was was built in 1958 and was the last school built in the Alaska territorial days. The school was originally located about 4 miles from Soldotna on the Kaliforsky Beach Road. Thirteen students attended the school the first year. Once the Kaliforsky Beach Road was completed and Soldotna Elementary School was completed in 1960 the school was no longer needed thus closed after only two years of service. The building is now open as part of the museum.
