Due to small blow out compared to the larger BP Gulf of Mexico Spill, and being located in a very rural area in sugar cane farmland, this one is not getting the attention. The well is owned by Mantle Oil of Friendswood, Texas It is located no farther than 2 miles from my personal home. Louisiana State Police shut down State Highway 70 from the Highway 1 intersection to LA 996. It is suprisingly loud, sounds like a jet plane flying close overhead. Video shot by local also located here.
