In 1955 Jonas Kristjansson, a medical doctor, founded the NFLI Rehabilitation and Health Clinic in Hveragerdi, Iceland. He introduced new and revolutionary ideas about nutrition, health and health care. The clinic combines the benefits of modern medical service with health care traditions of the Nature Health Association of Iceland.
Thousands of guests visit the clinic annually to experience the benefits of treatment, rehabilitation and relaxation. A visit to the mud baths is an interesting experience.
The bust of Jonas Kristjansson was unveiled in 2007.
