In the words of the National Capital Commission:

"The Luskville Falls are fed by a series of beaver ponds on the Eardley Plateau. However these natural reservoirs provide only a small supply of water. In the spring, the falls are at their most beautiful when runoff from melting snow swells them until they become a torrential cascade pouring down the mountain. But hot summer weather quickly dries up the roaring mass of water, leaving only a thin stream to trickle over the exposed rock. The Autumn rains bring new life to the falls-just in time for winter to transform them into a garden of ice."
