Charles Lindbergh's famous solo flight across the Atlantic bought him fame and recognition.
Charles Lindbergh spent his childhood in a house built by his father along the Mississippi River. You can tour the house, with its original furnishings and possessions. Hear the tales of how Charles would sleep on the porch even in the dead of winter and how he tinkered and puttered. There is a nearby historical center dedicated to Charles entire life, including a full size replica of his famous plane, The Spirit of St. Louis. See many artifacts, photos and more.
In 1931 the Lindbergh family gave the entire 110 acre site and summer house to the State of Minnesota for a state park. In 1969 the house and 17 adjacent acres were separated from the park and was given to the Minnesota Historical Society for preservation and interpretation. The home and historic site are open for tours, school groups and more.
Charles Lindbergh State Park sits adjacent to the home and historical site.
