This oxbow lake is part of the Preston River. A number of local organisations have worked together to transform this area from a piece of deserted farmland into an educational and conservation area. A large number of trees have been planted, a boardwalk constructed and picnic tables placed so that visitors can more easily access the area. The information boards give details of the aquatic macro invertebrates that live in the water. This includes photographs and expected sizes of each type. There is also information regarding the wildlife found on the edges of the waterway.
