"Grande Lido Ascona" is about 1km East of the village center. It is an area of about 80,000 m2 with a lot of old trees. There are two sandy beaches with a total length of 600 meters.
There is a pizza restaurant (open 11:30 - 17:00), a self-service restaurant (open 11:30 - 14:30 / 18:00 - 20:30), two beach bars and a newsstand.
The area contains several locations with change rooms, restrooms and showers. There are three small playgrounds, two beach volleyball fields and some table tennis. On the waterside the is a 4 meter diving platform and two swimming rafts.
The lido is open from May to September free of charge.
Not free, but also located on the area are a 96 meters water slide, a windsurf school and a banana boat operator.
There are not many beaches at this part of the lake, so it usually is extremely crowded when it's sunny and hot.
