A great little town with a sense of humor. Witness the population sign.

Check out the population sign. Not only does it have a great joke, but the numbers are actually on little hangers so that they can switch them out. Just like old gas price signs, or baseball scoreboards.
Kettle Falls is a fairly old town on the Columbia River, incorporated in 1891 but relocated when the original town was flooded by construction of the Grand Coulee Dam in 1940. Kettle Falls themselves, on the Columbia River, is an ancient Native American hunting site.
The small town is home to at least two famous people, Miss America 1992 (Carolyn Suzanne Sapp) and NFL player James Jackson Darling (Philadelphia Eagles).
