The St. Nicholas Church was built in 1962. The construction was led by the Athabaskan Chief Mike Maxim Alex. The church replaced the 1870s building which continues to stand adjacent to the church and is used as historical museum. The 1870s church was moved to Eklutna from Knik in about 1900.
The church continues to have services each week. In front of the church is the cemetery with several Athabaskan spirit houses and dates to about 1900.
Name of church or churchyard: St. Nicholas Orthodox Church
