Right in the very center of Rožnov pod Radhoštem you will find the oldest museum area – a wooden town with houses coming from the local square, and a church. Close to the museum there is the Wallachian settlement with many little fields, trees and gardens still in use as cultivation places for old crops and fruit trees of old sorts. Visitors can see fold buildings, a mill, a smithery and agricultural farmhouses with domestic animals. In the third part of the museum – the Mill Valley – we can find an iron-mill, a pressing plant, a mill and a sawmill. The Rožnov´s skanzen holds markets, daily exhibitions of traditional cratfs, carnival and Easter customs, exhibitions of clothes washing, pottery or blacksmith´s days, carvers meeting, Christmas carols and other events.

V centru Rožnova pod Radhoštem leží nejstarší areál muzea - drevené mestecko s domy z nekdejšího rožnovského námestí, s kostelem a fojtstvím. V tesném sousedství se nachází Valašská dedina. Návštevníci zde spatrí salašnické stavby, mlýn, kovárnu a hospodárské usedlosti vcetne domácích zvírat. V tretím areálu muzea - v Mlýnské doline - najdete hamr, lisovnu, valchu, mlýn a pilu, všechny spolecne pohánené sestavou vodních náhonu. V rožnovském skanzenu se každorocne konají jarmarky, celodenní ukázky tradicních remesel, masopustní a velikonocní obyceje, ukázky praní prádla, hrncírské nebo kovárské dny, setkání rezbáru, vánocní koledy a další slavnosti.
