Located on BLM land (Bureau of Land Management), the West Fourmile Creek meanders into a twisted gorge, sided by high pink granite cliffs, and emerges in a pool that is 50 feet wide and 8 feet deep.

Locals have gone to this location and jumped from the cliffs.

Despite attempts by the BLM staff to prevent people from jumping off the cliffs, and numerous posted sign warn against, one fatality has occurred in 2006.

There is a $6 per vehicle day use fee
Parking is at N 38 46.114, W 105 20.187

additional information, from a land manager report:
"recreational use in the area known as Guffey Gorge had increased and, due to violations of BLM rules, law enforcement has increased. The rules include no alcohol, no amplified music,no fires, no overnight camping and no glass containers, and dogs must be on a leash or attached to a fixed object. He said the area had become a "hang out" for juveniles. Seventeen citations have been recently given for underage drinking, 15 citations for glass containers and others for overnight camping and campfires. The Park County Sheriff's Office has also responded to incidents on the BLM property. Another concern of BLM was the increase in rescue efforts on the parcel due to rock climbing and some jumping off of 65-foot-high cliffs into a small pond on the property. Several significant injuries have occurred, including one death in 2006."
