Located with the urban Roger Williams National Memorial Park, this spring is located near an entrance and staircase. There is a plaque near the entrance which indicates:
"THE
SPRING ON THIS LOT
THE ORIGINAL WATER SUPPLY
AROUND WHICH
ROGER WILLIAMS
GATHERED
THE FIRST SETTLERS
WAS IN 1721 BY RESERVATION
IN DEED FROM THE
PROPRIETORS OF
PROVIDENCE
MADE ACCESSIBLE TO
THE TOWNSPEOPLE FOREVER"
Unfortunately, the spring has not been cared for very well...and trash could be seen in the basin.
