The influence of Miguel de Cervantes book, "The Ingenious Hidalgo Don Quixote of La Mancha" dating from the early 17th century has had a wide influence in literature and the arts. The character of Don Quixote has become an archetype of the passionate, but naive and sometimes comical crusader. The term "quixotic" has become part of the English language describing someone who is eccentric, impulsive and romantic.

This area of the city of Cheonan is the center of modern life with the Yawoori Galleria shopping complex and the Arario sculpture city and museum. Several world-class sculptures are featured here.

The plaque for this impressive sculpture gives further information about the artist:

"The artist was born in Busan and graduated from Busan Crafts High School and the Department of Sculpture at Chung-Ang University. He began to assume great prominence as an artist by winning the Grand Prize in MBC Korean Figurative Sculpture Competition in 1991. As a professional artist he has exhibited his works in numerous solo and group exhibitions, both nationally and internationally. In particular he has been attached to the series The Ignorant Bull - Don Quixote which is both very dynamic and explanatory. By using the product of material civilization like iron scraps and cement, he compared the reality of modern society to the ignorant, even stupidly honest Korean bull, and then humorously connected the bull with the figure of Don Quixote."

The sculpture is dated August, 1996.
