The hamlet of Poingt Ravier is perched on an alp, high above the town of Les Verneys, Valloire. We were in the area searching for Zabbula's sundials and the owner of one (WM7MZQ) told us about this dial and provided detailed directions on how to get there. Exploring the hamlet provided a great walk on a perfect fall day in the mountains.
The sundial is on the lower south west edge of the hamlet, on an old farm building converted into a cottage, Le Cadet. The dial is dated 1858 and looks like it has been carefully restored. It fits well into the surroundings
