Dow Crag gives it name to the FRCC climbing guide to the area. (Dow, Duddon and Slate)
Park your car at the fell top parking at end of the tarmac on the Walna Scar Road. Now start walking, turning up to Goats Water before Torver Bridge. Once at Goats Water cross Torver Beck using the natural boulder stepping stones. Follow the narrow track to the foot of the crag where there is a Mountain Rescue Box.

There are hotels and camping in Coniston.
