Ignác Florus Stašek was Czech mathematician, astronomer and pioneer of photography, Doctor of Philosophy, and later rector of the Piarist college in Litomyšl.
His teaching activities have a wider dimension and have been a great asset to cultural life and development of local Litomyšl schools. He was the author of numerous astronomical papers and his physical Cabinet considered one of the best equipped in the whole monarchy.
