Called 1328 Desert View Public Library (Broom) in the LEED website, this library is LEED certified with 26 points. It opened in February 2005 and was LEED certified in November 2006. The City of Phoenix has a commitment to building with sustainable design and construction. Sky Lights and concrete floors help make Desert Broom Public Library LEED certified. When visiting, you can readily see how little the natural desert was disturbed. While there on a day they were closed, we disturbed many wild animals, including a hawk. The use of natural desert landscaping also keeps water use down.
