This huge, colorful pheasant mascot commemorates the large pheasant population of this region and the annual autumn migration of hunters from across the country to the region and its many hunting lodges. These wild, unique, and beautiful birds can be often seen along the roads as one drives through the region. They will come along the road for gravel that helps with digestion especially along towards evening after a day of feeding. These birds are smart, fast of foot and wing, and not easy to hunt. The males will fight vicious battles for the right to mate, with one rooster usually seen with a number of hens in his "hareem."
