Malcolm X was born in a small house in North Omaha. The house no longer stands but the property is developing into a memorial to the life of civil rights leader Malcolm X. The walkway towards the memorial is paved with engraved bricks.

The Malcolm X Memorial Foundation, owns 10 acres of land including the former home site of Malcolm X who was born in Omaha, Ne. The organization is growing its National & International status. Supporters may purchase a brick with the name of a loved one or a supportive message to help defray the cost of the work of the foundation. The foundation aims to perpetuate the uncompromising leadership and contributions towards social justice of El Hajj Malik El-Shabazz (Malcolm X).
