Commemorate The Centenary
Of  The
Bank Of Montreal

The oldest banking institution in British North America founded November 3rd, 1817 incorporated by royal charter July 2nd, 1822.  This building was erected in 1847.  The first to stand on this ground.  Remodeled & extended to Craig St, 1905.

The Bank of Montreal now commonly known as BMO is currently the fourth largest bank in Canada.  The bank is now headquartered in Toronto though its head legal office remains in Montreal.
