Each side of the two poles has a placard reading "May Peace Prevail on Earth," in a different language. The church's poles will have placards in English, Spanish, Tamil, sign language, German, Czechoslovakian, Italian, Arabic, Hebrew, Chinese, Ukrainian and North American Ojibwa Indian. The poles were carved from white birch wood and the plaques were purchased from Peace Pole Makers USA, Maple City, Mich., which specializes in peace poles.
