Located in the Snowdonia National Park this centre is ideal for exploring the remote mountains. Lying on the edge of the large lake 'Llynnau Mymbyr' the Afon Lugwy (river) runs into the lake from the north-west and the Bryn Engan woodland huddles in the grounds.

Accommodation consists of bedrooms with the main centre sleeping 72 people in single, double and triple rooms. There are en-suite facilities for all rooms and bedding, linen and towels are provided. Tea and coffee making facilities are available in every room and the rooms are cleaned and serviced everyday.

Access is available for everyone and there are Drying Rooms, Laundry facilities, Parking spaces and in-course Transport. Plas y Brenin chiefly runs courses for all manner of outdoor activities and provides accommodation.

Within the centre is a lecture room with air conditioning which seats 100 people. This provides state of the art PC operated audio visual equipment (with laptop plug in if required), an 18 ft wall mounted projector screen and a wireless broadband connection facility for lectures, slideshows, presentations, product launches and other events. In addition there are ten meeting rooms where five have the same state of the art PC operated audio visual equipment with laptop input capability for your own PC and the other five have portable PC/AV set-ups. The rooms are equipped with AV screens and are heated.

Refreshments are available from the bar which has guest real-ales from local micro breweries and bar meals served until 12pm -2pm and 7pm - 9pm. There is also a large dining room which seats over 100 people serving a wide choice of homemade food with a choice of vegeterian options for every meal.

On site are several amenities for activities including a Rolling Pool with showers and changing facilities, a Climbing Wall, a Low Ropes Course, a Training Wall, a Ski Slope and storage area.

There is also a self catering unit and cottage available for hire.

The courses on offer are Skiing, Alpine Courses, Hillwalking, Rock Climbing, Welsh Winter, Scottish Winter, Mountain Qualifications, Fast Track Instructor, Rapid Development Clinics, Personal Coaching, Orienteering, Mountain Biking, First Aid, Kayaking, Canoeing, Sea Kayaking, Alpine Paddling, BCU Qualifications, Multi Activity
Team Development, Adventure Days for Groups, Adventures Packages for Groups, Young People (12-17), Family Adventure, Taster Sessions, Duke of Edinburgh Specials and Paddlesport Expedition Symposium. These vary throughout the year and of course take advantage of the outstanding surroundings.

Numerous outdoor activities with rock climbing, walking and kayaking included. Further afield are many villages and towns huddled in the mountains with attractions.
