This beautiful bronze plaque is dedicated to one of Haddonfield's finest citizens. It is located inside the breezeway of Haddonfield Memorial High School, just inside and to the left of the metal gates.

The walls of the breezeway which lead to the main grounds of the high school are lined with all sorts of memorials and plaques. Besides this nice plaque for Driscoll, there are plaques for various wars and one for the American Revolution.

I found many references to this man on the internet, all giving a biographical account of his life. His political affiliation was with the Republican party. He was also a lawyer, a member of New Jersey state senate from Camden County, 1939-41. He is most known for being governor of New Jersey from 1947-54 as well as being a delegate to Republican National Convention from New Jersey, 1948, 1952. He served on the Commission on Intergovernmental Relations from 1953-55. The Driscoll Bridge on the Garden State Parkway is named for him. He died March 9, 1975 and was interred at Haddonfield Baptist Churchyard, Haddonfield, N.J. The churchyard cemetery is actually across the street from this plaque. I also discovered he was a Presbyterian so I am not sure why he is buried in the Baptist cemetery.
