From the Wadena County Historical Society:
The Courthouse Tower is from the second Wadena County Courthouse built in 1886. The Courthouse was demolished in the 1970's and the tower was moved to the Wadena County Fairgrounds in West Wadena. It sat there until about 2007 when the curator of the Society thought it should be saved. Through generous donations and the county's Sentence to Serve program and many volunteer hours, the tower was moved to its present location, the grounds of the County Historical Society. It now sits on a cement base, and is being refurbished hopefully to be done later this year.
