The Venable Tobacco Company Building is a Durham Historic Landmark. This is an old brick building which housed the Venable Tobacco Company, which was a "leaf tobacco broker." Apparantly, they sold the cured, whole tobacco leaves to manufacturers.
The best view of this building's sign is from the railroad right-of-way across the street.
