A glacier is a mass of ice which moves over land. Glaciers form where the accumulation of snow and ice exceeds melting. As the snow and ice thickens, it reaches a point where it begins to move. As it moves, it often picks up objects and moved them to new locations. At this spot, there are two boulders that were placed here when the last glaciers in the area receeded. These rocks have been named by the McHenry County Conservation District.
