Luxembourg Gardens is the largest park on the left bank of the Seine in Paris. The gardens were laid out in 1612. Most of the statues date from the 19th century. Right next to the original model of the Statue of Liberty, there's a 9/11 memorial

On the right side of the statue there is an American oak planted by Christian Poncelet, President of the French Senate, on January 30 2002. It is dedicated to victims of the terrorist attack on 11th September 2001, as a symbol of Franco-American friendship.
