Buried at what remains of the former river boat landing town of Davenport is Corp, Thomas C. Fillyaw. Corp Fillyaw was attached to 10 Bn Ga. Inf. Hes was buried here by his son T. T. Fillyaw. As I was exploring this beautiful area I discovered a small trail at N29 28.301 w081 46.151 which led back into the woods. There all by himself surrounded by a steel rail and a marble headstone lay Corp Thomas C. Fillyaw. I looked on the internet and found some pictures I believe to be Thomas as a young man but I couldn't find any paticular family history or any connection or explanation for why he is buried here all alone at Davenport. I leave it to you to further my investigation and see what you can find about Thomas. While you are here there are so interesting bits of history about the early riverboat traders that lived on the river and also a nearby Indian Burial Mound that has been studied by Archaeologists.
First Name: Thomas
