Situated on Praca da Republica, the museum is small but well organised. Description cards in various languages are available in the various exhibit rooms which range from Roman, Moorish to 18th century.
This is the area of old Albufeira on which the castle was built so various castle remains are everywhere including walls, towers and silos, and a Moorish silo has been uncovered and is the centerpiece of one of the rooms.
The staff are very friendly and the one who greeted us spoke very good English.
