Atelier Tournesol (Sunflower Workshop) restores old historical sundial and creates new ones. Their website shows this dial is an original, created in 1986. This is one of their earliest works. It is an excellent dial with some innovative features. A dove, likely representing the Holy Ghost, is in bas relief. The hour lines radiate under its open wings. There are olive branches in the doves beak so perhaps this represents the dove of peace that Noah released. The olive branches indicated dry land and salvation after the flood.

The motto is in Provencal and I cannot translate it. It seems to be a prayer to Ste Colombe (Santa Couromba)

Ste Colombe is an alpine village, high above the Céane valley, not far from Orpierre. The hamlet is at the end of a switch back road up to the alp. The road was closed at the edge of town when we visited but the walk to the chapel was pleasent.
Sundial Type: Vertical - Wall mounted dial plate
