At 391 meters (1282 feet), the Hartland Covered Bridge is the longest covered bridge in the world. It crosses the St John's River in Hartland, New Brunswick.

It was officially opened July 4, 1901 and was rebuilt & covered in 1921/22. The original cost was less than $33,000 and a toll of 3 cents per person was charged until 1906. The bridge was declared a National Historic Site in 1980.

It's still open to cars and pedestrians and it's also listed on Roadside America.
