This park, designed by architect Luis Doutel, took the name of the Atlantic Axis in honor of the association of cross-border municipalities that make up the urban region of Galicia - North of Portugal, known as the 'axis of the Peninsular Northwest Atlantic. " This is a private association, nonprofit economic, founded in 1992, setting a Euro-regional and inter-state whose philosophy continues the European Union guidelines and includes several cities that claim to be the engine of development in the regions in which they operate.
