The avenue stretches for almost a mile in north Stockton. The street starts at about Davis Rd and ends at San Pasqual Way. The street goes through a mainly residential area, except at the corner of Lower Sacramento and Ponce de Leon, which has some commercial business. The waymark was taken at this intersection.
This is one of the only streets in the Great Bay Area/ Central Valley named after the explorer.
