The boat launch facility at Sand Harbor will reopen May 1. Boating launching hours will be from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. throughout the summer. It will close again September 30th.
Watercraft inspections are required as part of the new program that is helping to protect Lake Tahoe from the threat of aquatic invasive species such as Quagga and Zebra mussels
Lake levels are still very low and launch conditions are less than ideal, especially for boats over 16 feet in length. Boaters will need to use caution when launching their boats.
