To the north of Airton on the main valley road. The nearest railway would have been at Bell Busk, 5km south. This station connected the livestock farmers of the dale with major cities. The railway is still there. The stop has gone.
"I was there when this stand was built, cannot remember the date but in the mid 60,s, the iron work at the front was made at Hellifield smithy, i remember going with my father Bill Sharp to pick it up" Visit by skellands on 20/8/10
