Two mosaics located on the face of East Bohemia Theatre, which was opened December 11, 1909. Both mosaics were designed by Frantisek Urban and depict two moments from Czech history. He used special technique - mosaic from irregulary cutted ceramic tiles, which are painted in details (patented in 19th century by Emil Sommerschuh in Czech ceramic tiles producer RAKO).
The first mosaics represent legend about mythical Czech princess Libuse, which was alleged ancestor of the Premyslid dynasty and the Czech people as whole. According to legend, she founded Prague during the 8th century. The sign above the mosaic can be translatted as "My dear Czech nation never decease".
The second one depicts real historic event when legendary Czech general and Hussite leader prepared to attack Prague during Hussite wars in 13th century.
