This old milk platform shed at the farm gate in the isolated King Country, was once used to store milk cans and cream cans waiting for the milk truck to collect them. It is a small wooden shed with a door and a typical corrugated iron roof, raised off the ground on a stand. No longer used for milk cans, it possibly has another use these days, to hold parcels and supplies dropped off by the Rural Delivery van.
This is typical of a countryside farm milk stand, although they are not often seen anymore. We spotted this one as we took a shortcut route through the back country roads.
