Along the road with 21 switchbacks that climbs from Bourge d'Oisans, Isere, to the ski town of Huez is the church and clock tower of St Pierre dating back to the 11th century. This served as the parish church for the hamlet of La Garde, The church was rebuilt in 1677 and again between 1819 and 1829. The church has a great stone clock tower and a sundial on the south facing wall. Around the church is the graveyard.

See waymark WM8NTQ for information on the sundial.
