Heavily damaged by Hurricane Katrina, the Mount Zion family is steadily rebuilding. They currently meet in the preschool building, next door.

The plaque was missing from the church facade. I spoke with a deacon, Mac, who said they are steadily rebuilding the church, but no specific date on completion, The circular stained glass that was above the main entrance door was lost during the hurricane and will cost over $10,000 USD to replace! At my Waymarking visit they were working on the side entrance/bell tower area. Very nice people.
