The Peoples Bank was founded in 1889, the People’s National Bank is New Iberia’s second oldest banking institution. After moving to
this W. Main St. location 1904, the bank operated in that building until the mid-1970s. It was sold in 1975 and has operated as Poncio’s ever since.
