It takes a ferry on the Trans Canada Hwy to cross between Newfoundland and Nova Scotia. The Port-Aux-Basque, NL Terminal (Hwy 1) is 50 km north-northeast. The North Sydney, NS Terminal is about 125 km south-southwest.

The Ferry Landing in Port Aux Basques is at N47 34.858 W59 08.526.
The Visitor Information Center is about a half kilometer away at N47 34.995 W59 08.686.
The "Newfoundland Labrador Welcome" sign is a kilometer up the highway at N47 35.138 W59 08.669.

Nova Scotia side
The Ferry Landing in North Sydney is at N46 12.612 W60 14.604.
The nearest Visitor Information Center is in Port Hastings on the south end of Cape Breton Island about 100 km southwest of North Sydney (nearly 2 hours) N45 38.810 W61 24.355.
No Nova Scotia Welcome sign noticed.
