[CZ] Hora Snežka je se svými 1603 metry nejvyšší horou nejen Krkonoš, ale i celé Ceské republiky. Skalnatým vrcholem hory Snežky, který má rozlohu asi 30 akru, prochází cesko-polská hranice. Na severní polské strane se svahy Snežky svažují do údolí reky Lomnicky. Jižní svahy na ceské strane spadají do Obrího dolu, západní klesají na Úpské rašelinište a východní prechází v Obrí hreben. Jméno Snežka vzniklo z puvodního pojmenování Snežná, odvozeného od stavu „snehem pokrytá“. Než se však soucasné jméno hory v roce 1823 ustálilo, jejím prvním jménem byl Pahrbek Snežný, Snežovka a obcas se jí ríkalo i Snehovka.

[EN] With its 1603 meters, Mount Snežka is the highest mountain not only in the Krkonoše Mountains, but also in the whole of the Czech Republic. The Czech-Polish border passes through the rocky peak of Snežky Mountain, which has an area of about 30 acres. On the northern Polish side, the slopes of Snežka slope into the valley of the river Lomnicky. The southern slopes on the Czech side fall into Obrí dol, the western slopes descend to Úpské rašelinište and the eastern one passes into Obrí hreben. The name Snežka originated from the original name Snežná, derived from the state "covered with snow". However, before the current name of the mountain stabilized in 1823, its first name was Pahrbek Snežný, Snežovka and sometimes it was called Snehovka.
