The mile long bridge in the background (see gallery) was dedicated 27 September 1966, which crosses the Missouri River on Lake Francis Case. This was the eighth bridge over the Missouri which divides South Dakota into "East" and "West" River. The Chapel is directly across the road from the popular Snake Creek State Park. Many Harley Davidson and other motorcycles use Hwy 44 as an alternative to the more hectic I-90 route to the north on the way to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally during the first weeks of August each year. The Chapel is non-denominational and accommodates many visitors, especially during summer. There are many free (donations accepted) religious materials available, including a small Bible Scriptures booklet.
